About Us
Samman Vikas Samiti was established in September 1998 in Bahraich district keeping in mind social development. The organization was registered under 1860 Act on 18 September 1998 at Deputy Registrar Office, Faizabad. The organization started working with women, forming their self help groups. The group members were provided employments through micro enterprises. Simultaneously the organization started working with farmers interested in working in agriculture.

Mahsi and Shiv pur block in Bahraich district is adjacent to Ghaghra and Saryu river. Approximately 25% of the land suffers from water submergence. Most of the farmers are marginal, yet there is sufficient dependence on agriculture. The marginal farmers still use bulls for ploughing the fields. 70% of the fuel consumption of the households is fulfilled by cow dung. The soil organic carbon content is 0.21 to 0.40%. Poor soil fertility.
